Nora Heysen was born in Hahndorf, South Australia in 1911. Nora Heysen was the daughter of the renowned landscape painter, Hans Heysen, she demonstrated great artistic talent and technical skill from a young age.
Nora Heysen paintings display flexible brushstrokes and careful attention to detail, by the age of 20, her style had become so sophisticated that some of her work was already purchased by several State Galleries.
