Australian photographer Karin Catt boasts a portfolio of sitters that a photographer twice her age would envy. She has photographed world leaders Bill Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev and the Dalai Lama, a host of rock stars including Elton John, Sting, Lou Reed, David Byrne, AC/DC, PJ Harvey and Eminem and Oscar-winning compatriots Nicole Kidman, Geoffrey Rush, Cate Blanchett and Russell Crowe. Catt, who was born in Newcastle is now based in New York where she is regularly commissioned for magazines such as Vanity Fair, Vogue and Marie Claire. This first-ever gallery exhibition showcases Catt's strikingly direct portraits, which has created her exceptional local and international achievement over the last decade.
