The work of convict artist, Joseph Lycett, is familiar to many Novocastrians. This ambitious historical survey, developed in partnership between the State Library of New South Wales, The Historic Houses Trust and The National Library of Australia, presents Lycett’s nineteenth century opus to twenty first century audiences. Drawn from national, state and regional collections and including our own holdings of Lycett’s work, this exhibition presents Lycett’s enormous task of documenting early Australia.
