Art2Muse presents Meredith Gaston & Lyndal Campbell 5th September 2007
03 September - 09 September 2007
Whimsical and naïve paintings by two well loved Sydney artists.
Meredith Gaston
Meredith Gaston is a fantastic artist who is landing exhibitions in high-profile galleries in Sydney and Melbourne. Meredith's enchanting paintings are about telling stories, traveling and imagining - woven through recurrent themes of unusual animals, landscapes, and human relationships. Her travels in Italy and France are important creative references, and have in part inspired her paintings apparent in the warm, bold colours and the simplicity of form
Lyndal Campbell
Lyndal Campbell is a well know Sydney painter who has had several shows internationally and her work is in collections around the world. The fusion of her two previously distinct streams of Naïve and Abstract works is an important milestone in her art. Lyndal’s technical skill, draughtsmanship and ability to create harmony from discord is a result of constant and consistent work in the studio. Some paintings take many years to resolve by re-working and re-painting until she is happy with the results. She works on several paintings at any time, both on canvas and on paper, in rich bold oils. She is an intuitive painter and her paintings are usually multi-layered and complex regardless of the subject matter.
