Students from the Department of Art at Curtin University of Technology have curated an exhibition of works on paper taken from the Curtin University of Technology Art Collection. This project is a part of a second semester theory unit for second and third year students. Instead of writing a conventional assignment on the topic of the body, these students were able to develop skills in curatorial practice as well as further their abilities in writing about the visual arts. The works chosen for The Body exhibition explore the politics of femininity and the male gaze through representations of the body created by various artists. They generate a fascinating dialogue on the topic of sexual identity.
