The art of fashion. This exhibition charts the work of Australian fashion innovator Katie Pye from the late 1970s through to 1990. Integrating performance, design, art and fashion, Pye represented, and was part of, an energetic current that introduced new visual and conceptual models to Australian fashion. The exhibition will illustrate Pye’s individual, experimental and highly unorthodox work, and include over 30 outfits from the NGV collection displayed alongside contextual photography and video works.
