Geoffrey Bartlett is an established local artist whose distinctive public works can be seen throughout Melbourne. His sculptures are potently evocative and are characterised by spatial complexity, sensual surface treatment and a balance between visual and emotional tensions.
Presenting over 30 works produced since 1985, this exhibition will explore Bartlett’s practice and the pivotal influences, including the impact of working with fellow artists Tony Pryor and Gus Dall’Ava, and the studies he undertook during his three year Harkness Scholarship at Colombia University, New York.
