Where his last series, 'Tiles', focused on the age and decay of tiles at Flinders Street Station, Bax's new paintings utilise the minimalist line, form and colour found in the kitchen tiles and in the iconic butcher's aprons of the market place.
Inspired by the "chipped old tiles, hanging aprons and catholic icons" of the old market in Cadiz, Spain, Bax's new works are subtle reflections on the myriad of links between high art and everyday life.
