Contemporary Torres Strait linocut prints by Billy Missi. This solo exhibition is a substantial body of work based on family, cultural protocols, and the artists’ contemporary life experiences, growing up in Zenadh-Kes (the Torres Strait). Along with kinship, inspiration for the series of images in Urupan Kai Buai, is based on the natural environment and what the artist describes as “pure nature” reflecting the traditional ways of survival, including everyday stories and knowledge. Join the artist for a floor talk at 5.30pm. KickArts Lower Gallery. Free entry.
