Alick Tipoti lives in the Torres Strait. He grew up mainly on Badu Island, and currently lives on Horn and Thursday Islands. His printmaking continues the Torres Strait Islander tradition of storytelling. He is especially interested in the Badu Island stories told to him by his father and other elders about sea creatures, headhunters, religious beliefs and life before colonisation.
